 ABOUT CESAR ARREDONDO
The journalist behind The Southeast Sun 

César Arredondo is a Los Angeles-based journalist who has worked for more than two decades for Spanish- and English-language publications, TV and radio stations, and websites, covering entertainment, activism, immigration, education and hard news.

His articles have appeared in the daily newspapers La Opinión, Hoy, OC Register and Press-Enterprise; the weeklies Wave Community Newspapers, Excélsior del Condado de Orange, Mi Estrella del Condado de Ventura, all three in Southern California, as well as Ahora Utah in Salt Lake City, and the La Prensa Sonoma in Northern California. Other outlets that have published his works are the national magazine Latino Leaders and the websites LatinHeat.com and Rocketeria.com.

Arredondo has also worked with radio station KPFK 90.7FM, and TV station KWHY-TV Canal 22, where he was an associate producer in various public service programs and talk shows. He also served as audience director for Telemundo’s show Al Día Con María Conchita, hosted by actress and singer María Conchita Alonso.

 

His reporting has won three Best of the West journalism awards for coverage of the Sundance Film Festival and Utah's Occupy Salt Lake City movement, and another prize for education reporting from the National Association of Hispanic Publications. An article about homelessness for the San Fernando Valley Sun newspaper was a finalist for a California Journalism Award from the California News Publishers Association.​​

Furthermore, Arredondo has also worked as a production assistant for VH1’s Celebrity Rehab, auditions for American Idol, and as a producer in some independent films.
