Mexican Consulate on wheels to roll into Lynwood

Updated: Feb 23

The Consulate on Wheels program of the Consulate General of Mexico is now available in the city to help Mexican nationals with basic documentation services.

Known as "Consulado Sobre Ruedas" in Spanish, the program is slated to come to the Bateman Hall all Tuesdays and Saturdays in February. It only offers passports, consular identification cards known as matrícula and voter identification cards.

Appointments are required. No walk-ins are accepted.

Consulate on Wheels was created to bring documentation services to Mexican nationals directly to their places of residence because some people face difficulties in traveling to consular headquarters, according to the Mexican government. The Consulate General of Mexico in Los Angeles is located near McArthur Park in the community of Westlake.

The Consulate on Wheels is also expected to return to Lynwood later this year, first in April and then in the fall.

The Bateman Hall is located at 11331 Ernestine Ave. The program will be hosted in Room 2.

To make an appointment, send a text message via WhatsApp to (+1) 213-507-2981, or visit the website http://citas.sre.gob.mx.
